This page was referencing the best Hollywood/Foreign Movies/book about vampires ever. Let the Right One In (The american one starring Kickass’ Hit Girl is called Let Me In). Ok There are a lot more random pages but I will hold off till after the Christmas Zoe to post them because they aren’t my strongest work and 21 pages in a row is a bit much.
Hey, that’s who Zoe reminds me of. Chloe Grace Moretz (who played Hit Girl). No wonder I like her.
One of two vampire movies I’ve been wanting to see (the other is “What We Do in the Shadows”).
I’ve seen both movies and the book (well translated into English) they are all good but each is pretty different. The 2 movies when you boil things down are almost opposites. Their relationship in the original was more of the boy is a psycho in the making and the girl just wants companionship. The American it is almost the opposite where the girl comes across a lot more the monster and the boy is more of a weakling that clings to her. Both are good, but the subtext and tone are pretty much the opposite, I think it may be American thinking vs. Swede (or wherever the original was from, been a decade almost since seen them).
As far as what we do in the shadows, Yeah I’ve been meaning to watch that too, saw the first 3 or 4 episodes of the show but it started getting a bit dull and repetitive, probably worked better as a movie than trying to expand those same jokes over and over in a sitcom…
If you are looking for good Vampire movies I would also greatly recommend Byzantum. That was about a girl vampire in a world where girl vampires aren’t allowed who is in hiding with her mom (I think, again been a decade) and then meets a human and starts to fall in love. Lot more Shakespeare lot less Twilight.
