So, when I first found the (then current) Zoe (after VDSD-2020), I was a bit confused about the vampire thing. Took a while to realize she wasn’t actually a vampire, just a regular girl who liked to pretend she was. (There are plenty of fantasy comics that have “real” vampires, after all.)
Having this older arc available will make that easier to understand for future visitors.
yeah that was one decision with the new one that I regret. I made it clear in the first version by her removing her fangs that she was just pretending, with the new one I still haven’t found a new way to do that (I try to not do something the same way twice, for better or worse).
Well I’ve always tried to explain that she isn’t some “hot topic” girl, that it is her coping mechanism. So I try to stay clear of stereotypes of goth or emo girls.

so adorable.
Losing the black dress I think help convey that Zoe is “playing vampire” and not a goth pretending acting out a persona.
